PillTalk is a campaign that seeks to destigmatize birth control and empower young people around the topic of contraception, consisting of a pill-tracking app, collectibles, and informative zines.
The PillTalk app makes pill-tracking fun and easy for any birth control user. With daily alarms that help users remember to take the pill as regularly as possible the app prompts users to to record when the medication is taken. These entries can be viewed collectively as a calendar or journal, to give users a comprehensive view of their coverage. The PillTalk zine series, “Let’s Talk About Birth Control”, provides a set of brief guides to the different types of contraception and their pros and cons. With succinct, conversational explanations and simple hand-drawn illustrations, the zines are intended to be approachable guides that anyone can feel comfortable picking up, reading and passing on to friends, partners, or family members. The accompanying stickers, sketchbooks, pillows, and prints are designed to spread the conversation about contraception further, with bright colors and fun patterns that seek to make the topic playful and ubiquitous.
